Pillar 5 Media ("we", "us", "our") is an independent audio publisher. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and does not cover the podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube), which have their own policies.
Contact form. If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, and, if you are leaving a review, an optional star rating and country, so we can read and respond to your note. If you submit a review, we may publish it on this website, where it will be visible to the public.
Contributions. Contributions are handled by Ziina, which is regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE. Payments are processed in AED. We do not collect or store your card or banking details. Ziina processes that information under its own privacy policy. We may receive confirmation details such as the amount and date of a contribution.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and general device and browser information). Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect your approximate location based on IP address. This data helps us improve the site. Google processes it under its own privacy terms.
Embedded players and links. Our pages embed or link to third-party players (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube). When these load, the providers may set their own cookies and collect usage data under their policies. We do not control this.
Server and hosting data. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and request times) for security and reliability.
We use the information to respond to your messages, to process and acknowledge contributions, to understand and improve how the site is used, and to keep the site secure. We do not sell your personal information.
We group cookies into three categories, which you can control through the cookie banner or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Essential. A small record that remembers your cookie choice so we can honor it. It is always on, sets no tracking cookies, and cannot be turned off.
Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies to help us understand how the site is used. Off unless you allow it.
Embedded media. The Apple Podcasts player, loaded when you click "Listen here", may set cookies from Apple. Off unless you allow it. If it is off, you can still listen using the Spotify, Apple, and YouTube links.
We ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies (analytics or embedded media) are set, and you can change your choice at any time.
We rely on your consent (for analytics cookies and for contacting us), and on our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the site.
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site: our analytics provider (Google), our payment provider (Ziina), our hosting provider, and our contact form handler (Supabase). We may disclose information if required by law.
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and for our records, then delete them. If you submit a review that we publish, we keep it for as long as it remains on the website. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. Ziina may keep payment records under its own policy.
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA, or the UAE PDPL), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of analytics. The third-party services we use (such as Google Analytics and Ziina) may process your information on servers in other countries. That processing is governed by their own privacy policies and safeguards, which we do not control.
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. This concerns personal information submitted through the site only. Anyone is welcome to listen to our podcasts.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
